    The Facts

    • A growing wildfire in California's Yosemite National Park is threatening the largest grove of giant sequoias. The Mariposa Grove holds more than 500 sequoias, including the 3k-yr-old Grizzly Giant.

    • The Washburn fire - which started on July 7th - more than doubled in size over the weekend. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    The Spin

    Narrative A

This is one of many climate change-catalyzed infernos that are causing a global wildfire crisis. The soaring temperatures are turning landscapes into tinderboxes and it's time for governments to focus on preventing fires instead of reacting to them.

    Narrative B

There's no need to panic; California has a long history of wildfires. In fact, scientists have maintained that fires are needed for forest renewal. Despite this, climate alarmists are quick to point the finger at climate change, which only alarms the public.
