Russia Vows Response After Ukrainian ATACMS Attack

The Facts
Russia's defense ministry promised retaliation on Wednesday after it said Ukraine used US-supplied ATACMS missiles in a further attack on Russian territory earlier in the day.
The ministry said Ukraine's attack targeted a military airfield in Taganrog, a port city in the southern Rostov region, but added that all six missiles were either shot down or electronically jammed, causing minimal damage. The account could not be independently confirmed.

Russia is using every weapon in its arsenal in an attempt to intimidate Ukraine and its partners. However, that will not dissuade the US or its allies from supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Russia has repeatedly warned that US specialists are required to fire ATACMS missiles and that this is an unacceptable escalation. Russia hopes its warnings will be heeded and that the conflict can be settled peacefully. If not, however, appropriate countermeasures will be taken.
