The Spin

Republican narrative

This is welcome news for the people of New Hampshire, who've been yearning for new representation in the Senate. The Granite State should continue its tradition of electing a common-sense Republican to ensure the GOP maintains its majority and continues delivering for the American people.

Democratic narrative

Republicans shouldn't put New Hampshire on their side of the ledger just yet. The GOP hasn't won the state in the presidential election since 2004. There are plenty of talented Democrats ready to step in for Shaheen, and Democrats across the country still have a lot of time to build momentum before the midterms.
