Australian Election 2025

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese won a second consecutive term in office after his Labor Party defeated Peter Dutton's Liberal-National Coalition in Australia’s May 3, 2025, federal election. With 78.58% of votes counted, Labor is projected to have won at least 85 seats in the 150-seat House of Representatives — up from its previous 78 — while the Coalition is currently projected to have won 39 seats. Seventy-six seats are needed to secure a majority and form government.
