Ross Ulbricht is an American former dark web entrepreneur, best known for creating and operating the Silk Road, an online marketplace for illegal goods, primarily drugs. Arrested in 2013, he was convicted on charges of money laundering, computer hacking, and conspiracy to traffic narcotics, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In January 2025, he was pardoned by U.S. President Donald Trump, leading to his release from prison.
