Buzz Aldrin, 94, is a former NASA astronaut who became the second person to walk on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. Born Edwin Eugene Aldrin Jr. in 1930, he served as a U.S. Air Force pilot before joining NASA in 1963. After retiring from NASA, he has advocated for space exploration and Mars colonization.
