Judge Dismisses $10M Lawsuit Over ‘Boneless Wings’ Label

The Facts

  • U.S. District Judge John Tharp Jr. ruled Tuesday to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a Chicago man in 2023 against Buffalo Wild Wings, claiming the chain engaged in false advertising by marketing boneless wings made from chicken breast meat rather than deboned chicken wings.

  • Judge Tharp ruled that a reasonable consumer would not believe boneless wings were deboned chicken wings reconstituted into a "Franken-wing," stating the plaintiff's complaint "has no meat on its bones." The judge did, however, note that boneless wings are "essentially chicken nuggets."

  • The plaintiff, Aimen Halim, purchased boneless wings in January 2023 and argued the term deceives customers since the product uses cheaper breast meat. He sought roughly $10 million in damages and attempted to bring a nationwide class action lawsuit.

The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

The judge got it right dismissing this frivolous lawsuit. Boneless wings can absolutely be called wings because the term refers to the cooking style and sauce, not the body part — just like buffalo wings aren't made from buffalo. Reasonable consumers understand what boneless wings are, evidenced by their lower price point and decades of widespread availability since 2003.

Establishment-critical narrative

Reality has lost in court. Boneless wings are nothing more than chicken nuggets or breast meat tenders, and calling them wings deliberately misleads consumers about what they're actually buying. The judge even admitted in the ruling that these products are "essentially chicken nuggets," yet still allowed this deceptive labeling to continue.

Cynical narrative

This case never belonged in federal court to begin with. Americans shouldn’t need judges to settle menu common sense, and treating this like a $10 million grievance is the peak of lawsuit culture. When courts are asked to referee obvious consumer expectations, it shows how reflexively we outsource basic judgment instead of using it.

Nerd narrative

There's a 1.6% chance that commercial farming of cows, pigs, and chickens for meat will be prohibited in the U.S. before 2041, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

Report: US Military Prepared to Attack Iran as Trump Suggests 10-Day Decision Window

The Facts

  • The U.S. has concentrated significant air and naval assets in the Middle East, positioning forces that could carry out a strike on Iran as early as this weekend, according to multiple reports. U.S. President Donald Trump, who's been weighing whether or not to strike, said Thursday the world will find out "over the next probably 10 days."

  • During a Wednesday press conference, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Iran "would be very wise" to make a deal with President Trump, noting that while there was "a little bit of progress" following Tuesday's talks in Geneva, the two sides remain very far apart on some issues.

  • A U.S. presidential adviser reportedly said that there is a "90% chance we see kinetic action in the next few weeks." The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier group is already in the region, and a second carrier group, the USS Gerald Ford, is currently en route to the Middle East.

The Spin

Pro-Iran narrative

The Trump administration's military buildup and sharpened rhetoric reflect a pattern of strategic drift. The administration appears to move between diplomacy and coercion without a clearly defined framework for assessing Iran's capabilities, internal stability, or deterrence thresholds. Iran stands ready to act firmly against any form of aggression, and threats from the United States will be confronted militarily rather than through diplomatic channels.

Anti-Iran narrative

Military readiness is not recklessness but a necessary form of deterrence against a brutal regime that threatens regional stability while advancing its nuclear program. Iran's continued fortification of nuclear sites and high-profile military exercises suggest that diplomatic outreach may coexist with ongoing escalation. With forces positioned and options prepared, sustained and credible pressure is seen by supporters as the clearest way to push Tehran toward meaningful concessions before the window for diplomacy narrows.

Nerd narrative

There is a 30% chance that the United States and Iran will sign a new agreement restricting Iran's nuclear program before 2029, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

Peru: José María Balcázar Sworn in as Interim President

The Facts

  • Peruvian congressman and retired judge José María Balcázar Zelada, of the leftist Perú Libre (Free Peru) party, was sworn in as the country's interim president on Wednesday. He is set to serve for five months, until July 28.

  • Balcázar defeated his fellow lawmaker María del Carmen Alva Prieto, 64 to 46, in a runoff election in Congress after they emerged as the two top contenders — with 46 and 43 votes, respectively — in a first round where no candidate secured a simple majority to win outright.

  • This comes as the Peruvian Congress voted on Tuesday to remove José Jerí from presidential office less than five months after he was sworn in to replace impeached President Dina Boluarte, following the so-called "Chifagate" scandal.

The Spin

Pro-government narrative

Balcázar's election vindicates the popular will that was violated with the ousting of Pedro Castillo years ago and disciplines the coup plotters who attempted to subvert democracy. This symbolic return of Perú Libre, even in the final months of the term, puts the country back on track.

Government-critical narrative

Regardless of Balcázar's political ideologies, his election is an unforgivable historic error that reveals the moral bankruptcy of lawmakers. It's shameful that the country now has a president that justifies and supports child marriage and whose statements are incompatible with fundamental human rights.

Nerd narrative

There's a 49.5% chance that Rafael López Aliaga will win the 2026 Peruvian presidential election, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

Trump Announces Board of Peace Members Contributed $7B for Gaza Rebuild

The Facts

  • U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that nine members of his Board of Peace — Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Kuwait — have contributed more than $7 billion toward a Gaza relief package.

  • Trump further said that the U.S. will contribute $10 billion to the Board of Peace, offering no details on where the funds would come from or if his administration has already requested them from Congress.

  • Meanwhile, the commander of the newly-created International Stabilization Force, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers, announced that five countries — Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania — have pledged to send troops, and two others‚ Egypt and Jordan, have committed to train police.

The Spin

Anti-Trump narrative

Trump's Board of Peace represents absolute corruption, placing a failed businessman who breaks financial laws in charge of $5 billion for Gaza. This plan transforms Palestinian liberation into an investment project, imposing colonial control through economic development while excluding Palestinians from decision-making and ignoring their right to self-determination.

Pro-Trump narrative

The Board of Peace offers real hope for ending the devastating Gaza conflict that has killed over 67,000 Palestinians. This multilateral initiative brings together global powers to disarm Hamas, stabilize the region and begin reconstruction. Success in Gaza could demonstrate a new model for resolving international conflicts beyond the failing U.N. system.

Nerd narrative

There is a 50% chance that at least six Arab League member states will have normalized relations with Israel in 2027, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

UK: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Arrested on Misconduct Charges

The Facts

  • Multiple outlets reported on Thursday that Thames Valley Police arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Police have confirmed that a man, now released under investigation, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, with searches conducted at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.

  • Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who turned 66 on the day of his arrest, was reportedly detained at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Police vehicles were observed arriving at the estate in the morning, with witnesses reporting that those who arrived wore civilian clothing. Photographers from Reuters later identified Andrew leaving Alysham Police Station in the evening.

  • Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright stated that an arrest was made following a "thorough assessment," and that while the individual would not be named, the case held "significant public interest." Misconduct in public office concerns "serious wilful abuse or neglect of the power or responsibilities" of a public role and carries a maximum sentence of life.

The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor represents a seismic, unprecedented moment for the British monarchy that cannot be understated. While innocent until proven guilty, a senior royal sitting in police custody station marks a stunning fall from palace splendor. This case stretches the very fabric of the British constitution in a way never seen before.

Establishment-critical narrative

Arresting Andrew for misconduct in public office, instead of well-publicized trafficking and sexual abuse allegations, exposes a broken justice system that protects the powerful. While the real crimes involving the abuse of minors get swept aside, passing government documents prompts legal action. This selective prosecution proves the system only cares about itself and not the people it is meant to protect.

Nerd narrative

There is a 70% chance that any part of Great Britain will be under monarchy in 2075, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

Report: US to Launch Portal to Bypass EU Content Bans

The Facts

  • The U.S. State Department is developing a new online portal that will enable people in Europe and beyond to view digital content banned by their governments, according to three sources familiar with the plan.

  • Speaking to Reuters, the officials stated that the website — called "freedom.gov" — could feature a built-in virtual private network (VPN) to disguise a user's origin as U.S.-based, with one claiming that the site will not track user activity.

  • Allegedly, the project, headed by Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers, was expected to be unveiled at the Munich Security Conference but was delayed, with some officials at the State Department raising concerns regarding the plan.

The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Freedom.gov will dismantle European censorship by providing people, wherever they are, with direct access to blocked American content via a built-in VPN to bypass government firewalls. Through this initiative, unelected EU bureaucrats will no longer be able to control what their citizens see or say online, restoring Europeans' rights to free speech and free expression.

Anti-Trump narrative

This portal will serve as little more than a glorified distribution hub for far-right disinformation. By creating the tools to bypass Europe's guardrails, the U.S. is aiding the likes of Russia and China to fragment European unity, while empowering the continent's extremists by enabling the spread of their toxic content, undermining public trust, elections and democracy in the process.

Nerd narrative

There is a 4% chance that the U.S. and the EU (or one of its member states) will cut diplomatic ties before 2051, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

Canada Unveils 5 New Express Entry Categories for 2026

The Facts

  • Canada announced five new Express Entry immigration categories for 2026 targeting physicians, researchers, senior managers, transport occupations and skilled military recruits on Wednesday. Immigration Minister Lena Diab said the move aimed to strengthen the labor market.

  • The minimum work experience requirement for all renewed occupational categories has increased from six months to 12 months of experience in an eligible occupation. This experience can be gained in Canada or abroad over the previous three years.

  • The skilled military recruits category requires applicants to be serving in a recognized foreign military with at least 10 years of continuous service and have a full-time job offer for at least three years with the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Spin

Right narrative

Mass immigration has destroyed Canada through unaffordable housing, stagnant wages and overburdened services. The policy imports incompatible values from around the world, causing ethnic violence and foreign interference while politicians pander to minority groups. Canada's identity and reason to exist as a nation are rapidly disintegrating.

Left narrative

Immigration remains essential for Canada's economic growth, social services funding and global influence. Without continued immigration to offset low birth rates, the country faces demographic decline like Japan, weakening productivity, innovation and military capacity. Besides, far from supporting mass migration, this latest policy focuses on attracting the skilled workers that Canada desperately needs.

Nerd narrative

There is a 0.8% chance that at least part of Canada will become a U.S. state before Jan. 21, 2033, according to the Metaculus prediction community.

SKorea: Ex-President Yoon Gets Life for Martial Law Plot

The Facts

  • The Seoul Central District Court on Thursday sentenced former South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol to life imprisonment after convicting him of leading an insurrection related to his martial law declaration. The court found that Yoon sent troops to the National Assembly with the intent to paralyze its functions.

  • In December 2024, Yoon declared a state of emergency and martial law in a televised address, citing the need to root out anti-state forces in the National Assembly. The declaration was overturned six hours later after lawmakers defied armed police and military to vote down the decree.

  • Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun received a 30-year prison sentence for his role in the martial law incident. Former National Police Agency Commissioner Cho Ji-ho was sentenced to 12 years, while former Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Commissioner Kim Bong-sik received 10 years.

The Spin

Narrative A

Yoon's life sentence is a politically motivated purge disguised as justice, with judges bowing to forces seeking to eliminate their enemy. Thousands rally in the streets, declaring him the real president and chanting "not guilty" because they recognize this legal machinery for what it is. The same global pattern repeats — leaders who challenge establishment narratives on communist infiltration get removed through weaponized courts and branded as insurrectionists.

Narrative B

The judiciary legally confirmed that the martial law constituted insurrection, yet inexplicably granted leniency to the ringleader who shook the nation's foundations. Life imprisonment rather than death ignores the unarmed citizens who defended democracy against martial law forces. Setting a dangerous precedent that insurrection leaders deserve mercy based on age undermines justice and demands swift legislative action to ban pardons for such crimes.

Tucker Carlson Claims Detention at Israeli Airport, Officials Deny

The Facts

  • American political pundit Tucker Carlson traveled to Israel on Wednesday to interview U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee at Ben-Gurion Airport. Carlson claimed that men identifying as airport security confiscated his and his team's passports and questioned his executive producer about the interview content.

  • The Israel Airports Authority stated that Carlson and his crew "were not detained, delayed or interrogated," and that his team was brought to a "separate room within the VIP lounge solely to protect their privacy," where they "were politely asked a few routine questions" that other travelers are also asked.

  • Ambassador Huckabee stated that everyone entering or exiting Israel has passports checked and is routinely asked security questions. A U.S. Embassy spokesperson said Carlson received the same passport control questions that many visitors to Israel encounter.

The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

Carlson, whom Israel supporters have been eager to speak with, not detain, used a luxury VIP terminal at Ben Gurion Airport designed for dignitaries and celebrities, complete with private suites and upscale amenities. Standard security screening at this exclusive concierge service hardly constitutes detention. Calling this privileged treatment "detention" reveals a dishonest, anti-Israel agenda meant to mislead Americans about the Jewish State.

Establishment-critical narrative

Israeli security officials confiscated passports, hauled Carlson's producer into a separate room and demanded details about his conversation with Ambassador Huckabee. This came after Israeli authorities initially wanted to ban Carlson entirely and only relented to avoid a diplomatic incident. The scariest part of all is that, as history shows, if Israel were to arrest or even kill an American, the U.S. government would do nothing about it.
