Shinzo Abe

Shinzo Abe served as Japan's prime minister from 2006-2007 and 2012-2020, becoming the country's longest-serving leader. The conservative Liberal Democratic Party politician championed economic reforms known as "Abenomics" and sought to strengthen Japan's military capabilities. He was assassinated while campaigning in Nara on July 8, 2022, at age 67.
