Biden to meet virtually with new Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio Friday

President Biden plans to meet PM Fumio Kishida on Jan. 21 to 'deepen ties' between the U.S. and Japan.
The White House has emphasized coordination between the countries on many global issues and characterized the relationship a 'cornerstone of peace'.
Biden's poor diplomacy has caused rifts with allies. This commitment to the Quad may cause further damage, as AUKUS did to relations between the U.S. and France.
Coordination with Japan gives the U.S. better opportunities to tackle climate change, COVID-19 and other pressing issues whilst consolidating the alliance against China's global influence.
