Day 88: Attacks Intensify Near Severodonetsk, Ukraine Says It Won't Concede Territory
The Facts
- Russian forces are reportedly continuing to intensify attacks near the city of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region, which is believed to be key to their aim of capturing the Donbas. According to Serhiy Hayday, head of the regional military administration, they have destroyed the Pavlograd bridge between Severodonetsk and Lysychansk.
- Meanwhile, Russia's defense ministry on Sun. claimed to have struck three command posts and 13 areas hosting Ukrainian soldiers and military equipment in the Donbas, as well as four ammunition deposits.
- This comes as Lozova Mayor Serhiy Zelensky said on Sat. that a Russian missile strike on the city - located in the region of Kharkiv - the day before damaged more than 1k apartments and 11 educational institutions.
