On Sat., 77 miners who were trapped underground during a power outage and shelling at the Zasyadko coal mine in the Donetsk region were rescued, according to local officials. Nobody was reportedly injured.
Meanwhile, President Zelenskyy made a trip to the front-line southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, where he reportedly met with soldiers, gave out state awards to local leaders, and toured damaged buildings. News of his visit comes a day after a Russian strike reportedly killed two people and injured 20 in the city.

This invasion is an egregious violation of international law. Putin's ultimate aim is to restore the Soviet empire, even if it takes massive bloodshed and false pretexts such as calling the 2014 Ukrainian revolution after a fraudulent election a "coup". NATO and the US have ignored Russia's security concerns by breaking its promise not to expand eastward in return for German reunification. These concerns are legitimate and taking them seriously would have avoided the Ukraine tragedy.
