    The Facts

    • The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riots has said there's evidence to suggest that Trump may have engaged in a 'criminal conspiracy' to try and overturn the results of the 2020 election.

    • The assertion came in a court filing in a case surrounding the subpoena issued to Trump-aligned lawyer John Eastman.

    The Spin

    Pro-Trump narrative

The real conspiracy was the Democrat-led scheme to fraudulently steal the 2020 election from President Trump. Now the Democrat-led "Unselect Committee" is using its power to try and sabotage Trump's re-election bid in 2024.

    Left narrative

Eastman's claims to atttorney-client privilege are nothing more than a last-ditch effort to try and conceal the abundant evidence of what was a wide-ranging scheme to overturn the results of a free and fair election. The Select Committee will get to read these emails, and further proof of Trump's crimes will finally emerge.
