- US authorities have discovered an underground smuggling tunnel near San Diego's Otay Mesa border crossing. It reportedly runs about the length of six football fields and contains reinforced walls, electricity, ventilation, and a rail system.
- According to authorities, the tunnel connects a house in Tijuana to a warehouse in an industrial area in San Diego. Several other sophisticated tunnels have been located in this area in the last two decades.
- Homeland Security Investigation agents reportedly discovered the tunnel on Fri. while doing surveillance on a residence that was used for cocaine smuggling in Mar., with six people charged with conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.
