The Facts

  • An Axios-Ipsos poll has found that only 9% of Americans believe COVID is currently a 'serious crisis.'

  • Results showed that Democrats were 5x more likely than Republicans to say COVID is a crisis (16% to 3%), while Republicans were 10x more likely to say it's 'not a problem at all' (31% to 3%).

The Spin

Left narrative

Though many may wish it to be, COVID is not over. Socially-accepted terms like "endemic" and "new normal" are disingenuous as the pandemic rolls into another deadly surge.

Right narrative

It's time to accept that COVID is here to stay and learn to live with it. We now have the tools and experience to manage it, and individuals should be allowed to calculate their own risk.
