    The Spin

    Left narrative

The refusal by Westminster to entertain the prospect of a second independence referendum is anti-democratic. However, as long as the Tories are in power, this will seemingly not change. Nobody is calling for the SNP to give up on dreams of independence, but progressive parties need to unite around a common cause of pushing the Conservatives out of Downing Street before real talks can begin.

    Right narrative

Sturgeon, despite everything else going on in the world, is still fixated on Scottish Independence. Her voice is that of dangerous, intolerant, and tribalist nationalism. The SNP is only presiding over a declining economy and public services that show that her party is not fit to take care of Scotland.

    Metaculus Prediction
