Two top tech executives announced their resignations from former Pres. Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, this week.
Josh Adams and Billy Boozer, the chiefs of technology and product development, joined the venture last year and quickly assumed key roles in the company in its aspirations to build a social media empire.
Trump's social media platform has been a massive technology failure. Besides the fact that the app hardly works, daily downloads have plummeted and Trump himself doesn't even use it.
Don't count Truth Social out from being an insurgent tech success. At launch, the platform soared to the number one spot on Apple's App Store and long waiting lists to use it are indicative of the massive demand for Truth Social. The platform's achievements will be a strong message to corrupt Silicon Valley CEOs who think they can limit free speech in America.
This has red flags well beyond tech issues. Truth Social is being taken public by a "blank-check" company or SPAC called Digital World Acquisitions. Digital World is now under investigation by the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority for potential legal violations.
