On Monday, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Enterprise, the AI chatbot's business tier, which it claims can protect business data as companies ponder using the platform over concerns about privacy and security.
ChatGPT Enterprise has been certified SOC 2 compliant (System and Organization Controls 2) — a framework set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for inspecting a company's controls for managing customer data to ensure security and privacy standards.
As ChatGPT Enterprise addresses many of the shortcomings of ChatGPT in terms of privacy and security, along with offering increased speed and customization options, the business-focused product will ease at least some of the concerns about OpenAI's consumer version of ChatGPT.
While ChatGPT Enterprise is being presented as a positive step, it's merely OpenAI's attempt to monetize. Artificial intelligence companies need to take time out and set rules and expectations for the use of AI before launching new technologies, the ramifications of which no one can predict.
