The Facts

  • UK-based non-profit Airwars released a report on Thursday claiming that the first month of Israel's air campaign in Gaza caused "unprecedented" harm to civilians and was incomparable to other conflicts it had analyzed in the 21st century.

  • The report, based on data using open-source casualty recording, says that the first 25 days of Israel's air campaign in Gaza were "by far the most intense, destructive, and fatal conflict for civilians that Airwars has ever documented."

The Spin

Pro-Palestine narrative

Though Airwars did not comment on Israel's intent, its report is yet another piece of thorough and well-researched evidence that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Indeed, its findings speak for themselves, as the first month of the conflict was so deadly to civilians that it's simply incomparable to other 21st century conflicts.

Pro-Israel narrative

Israel, as always, is singled out and smeared for actions any other country would take if over 1K of its people were massacred. The deaths of civilians in Gaza is tragic, but this is the fault of Hamas, who uses the civilian population as human shields, not Israel.
