US House Republicans are set to advance several investigations and hearings this week, including a contempt vote against Attorney General Merrick Garland and a hearing on the Manhattan district attorney's (DA) office, which brought charges against former Pres. Donald Trump.
The House Judiciary Committee had Garland testify recently over his refusal to release the recording of Pres. Joe Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur regarding classified documents found at his home.
The GOP is making a mockery of the rule of law by using Republican-led committees to wage lawfare against their political opponents. These political committees are farces designed to frustrate and humiliate anyone who stands in the way of Trump and the GOP agenda. Each one of these allegations are all substance-free conspiracies.
It's ironic to call the GOP hearings lawfare when the Democrat-led Justice Department is actually prosecuting its political opponents. Garland's Justice Department has shown itself to be the legal weapon of the Biden administration, examples of which range from trying to put Trump behind bars to prosecuting pro-life Americans for holding public prayer demonstrations.
