The Facts

  • Shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 US presidential election, Black Americans in at least 25 states have reportedly received anonymous text messages containing racist references to slavery and cotton picking.

  • The targeted recipients include university students at Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama. Many messages contained personalized information about the recipients, and some included the #MAGA hashtag.

The Spin

Left narrative

Once Trump was re-elected, it was just a matter of time before racists in the US would feel empowered to do things like this. White supremacy is going to keep growing with Trump in office, and it's up to leaders at all levels of the country to condemn racism and hold to account whoever's responsible for these types of acts.

Right narrative

As Trump is headed back to the White House, Trump Derangement Syndrome is coming back in full force. Unfortunately, it's unclear who sent the racist texts, and it could be the result of some apolitical teenagers pulling a prank. It's incredible the lengths leftists will go to blame Trump for anything, to settle political scores.
