    The Facts

    The Spin

    Pro-establishment narrative

By hiring cyber sleuths, the FBI will be able to apply the tried and true law enforcement strategy of following the money even as criminals shift their work to the anonymous and decentralized currencies run on blockchain technology.

    Establishment-critical narrative

This is another example of overreach by Western governments, as when Canada recently allowed seizure of cryptocurrency from protesting truckers. What counts as crime varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but the DOJ will now attempt to impose its own standards as universal.
