US gunmaker unveils semi-automatic rifle marketed to kids
Raw StoryFEB 23 2022
US gun manufacturer, WEE1 Tactical, is launching a miniature semi-automatic rifle made for kids.
The rifle, named the JR-15 and unveiled last month, is modeled on the AR-15; a gun notorious for its use in various mass shootings, including Sandy Hook.
The weapon is reportedly shorter and weighs 20% less than the original. It comes with magazines of five or ten rounds in caliber 22.
This is outrageous -- gun manufacturers will do anything in pursuit of profits. More must be done to regulate guns; and would be if it weren't for the NRA lobbyists.
Youth guns have been around for ages, and they help children develop a deep, lifelong respect for firearms. At 0.22 caliber, this is a fairly innocuous weapon.
