Israel's Supreme Court suspended the evictions of four Palestinian families in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah on Tuesday.
The ruling follows months of protests, clashes and international condemnation.

Narrative A
This is a great victory for justice as it cancels past decisions regarding land ownership. It raises hopes for dozens of Palestinian families in occupied East Jerusalem who live under the constant threat of eviction, and thousands more who face the threat of demolition.
Narrative B
In making this ruling, the Supreme Court has placated Arab terrorists and rioters who have used violence in order to secure concessions to Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah. This is a dangerous precedent for all of Israel.
Cynical narrative
This ruling merely calls for a delay of eviction until further legal investigations are carried out. Authorities are sensitive to the current volatility of the area and are placing cosmetic delays on evictions until tensions die down.
