On Tues. night, a primary ballot referendum saw residents of Kansas vote to retain abortion as a state constitutional right.
The Republican-proposed amendment - dubbed the "Value Them Both" Amendment - wouldn't have outlawed abortions but would've allowed lawmakers to pass legislation regulating access to the procedure.
Republicans weren't in touch with on-the-ground reality when they decided to bring this vote to the primary ballot. Trying to capitalize on typically low voter turnout in primary elections in a GOP-majority state only fired up the pro-choice liberals and moderates, resulting in a devastating loss to their agenda. Most Kansans, including Republicans, don't favor an abortion ban.
The pro-abortion lobby used lies to convince voters that current laws in Kansas are moderate, but the Democrats and the state are now on track to legalize abortions even later in pregnancy than the current five-month limit. Given the unscrupulous spin of the left, the pro-life movement must work even more diligently to educate people on ways to protect the preborn and their mothers.
