New polling shows that a substantial number of Democrats and Republicans want to move past the 2020 election matchup and have new candidates for 2024.
According to a CNN poll, 51% of likely Democratic voters want someone other than Biden to be nominated.
Trump's support rests on a particular segment of the Republican base, a shrinking minority that consists of uneducated white voters, and conspiracy theorists who have bought into the disgraced president's "big lie" about 2020. They're not the path forward for the RNC or this country.
Those who disapprove of the failed Biden administration, with its rampant inflation and nonsensical COVID policies, are much more impassioned than his base of tepid supporters. This bodes well for Republicans in 2022 and 2024.
Republicans and Democrats seem to be in agreement on one thing: they don't want to see a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024.
