Boris Johnson has rightly been condemned for his continual lies, and his response to being held accountable has been a vast stream of explosive nonsense. Despite ongoing attacks on the committee by Johnson and his allies, its members have stood strong and exposed the former PM's failings. Johnson has brought this catastrophic ending upon himself — the worst PM in the UK's history is being forced to leave in disgrace.
The committee conducted a Soviet-style show trial that set out with a predetermined goal of kicking Boris Johnson out of parliament. This ordeal has damaged the faith of the British people in the democratic system, especially as the committee dismissed all evidence in his defense as further attempts to mislead members. Even those who don't like Johnson can admit this was a seriously flawed process.
