Ilya Sutskever TO LEAVE OPENAI

OpenAI's chief scientist, Ilya Sutskever, has announced that he is leaving the company, which he founded in 2015 with others including CEO Sam Altman and Elon Musk. He will reportedly be replaced by Jakub Pachocki.
Last November, Sutskever and three board members voted to oust Altman from the organization. While Altman was reinstated five days later, Sutskever remained an employee but never returned to work.
While Sutskever's departure is sad news for Open AI, he will inevitably utilize his brilliance for exciting new projects. As one of the key figures behind OpenAI's creation and success, it will be a difficult loss, but Pachocki will continue his innovative and safety-focused legacy.
While Sutskever's resignation isn't surprising given his attempt to oust Altman, it's mysterious that no details were given regarding his or Leike's exit from the company.
