Considering he was ordered to pay close to half a billion dollars for lying about his finances, it wouldn't have been wise for the court to trust Trump's claim he would be good for the money at the end of the appeals process. So the system has worked the way it should, with Trump forced to post bond and Carroll eventually being able to more easily collect her money from the bond issuer.

Considering the illegitimacy of these judgments, Trump shouldn't have had to post bond.
