The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

France has no choice but to take a firmer stance against Algeria's deliberate non-cooperation on critical security and migration issues. Algeria refuses to take back dangerous nationals, imprisons French citizens on questionable charges, and has suspended consular cooperation while expecting diplomatic privileges. These measures will restore respect and protect French interests.

Establishment-critical narrative

France's escalatory approach marks a colonial mindset that ignores Algeria's sovereignty and dignity. The visa restrictions target legitimate diplomatic relations while France interferes in regional affairs by recognizing Morocco's claims over Western Sahara. Algeria will not bow to French pressure or ultimatums, and is being punished for standing up for the liberation of the downtrodden.
