The Spin

Pro-government narrative

The protests that took place over the weekend were an unconstitutional attack against the democratically elected government of Georgia. While some of the organizers of this attempted coup already await justice, many more, including those who partook in the chaos, remain at large. To protect the nation, these outlaws must face the full weight of the law.

Pro-Europe narrative

The accusation by Kobakhidze that the EU ambassador to Georgia was behind the events on Saturday was scandalous. This disinformation is nothing more than a blatant attempt to distract attention from the government’s crackdown on civil liberties. The Georgian government must release all those arbitrarily detained and refrain from further state violence.
