The Spin

Narrative A

Global warming due to industrialization is causing this unprecedented glacial melting. The numbers can't be ignored, as sea ice that existed years or decades ago is now gone. It took tens of thousands of years for the glaciers of Great Britain to melt, proving that this recent phenomenon is caused by humans. The world will have to adapt, but it should also work to slow this warming to protect what ice is left.

Narrative B

Climate alarmists aren't independent researchers trying to save the planet — they're part of a doom-and-gloom industry that profits off of scaring the population into thinking the world is ending. Research debunks much of the ice-melt paranoia, showing that ice shelves have little impact on future ice loss, and volcanic activity, not just climate, drives melting. Sea level rise fears are also overblown, as they're rising less than an inch per century.
