Grok has become a vessel for Musk's prejudices, which have grown closer and closer to the racist, antisemitic far-right fringe of American politics. After Grok accidentally told the truth last month by acknowledging that right-wing violence is the biggest threat to America, it appears that Musk rushed to fix the algorithm to advance unacceptable bigotry.
Right narrative
While no one condones Grok's recent antisemitism, what's more important is that xAI quickly stepped in to shut it down and update the algorithm. This also shouldn't take away from the many positive effects Grok has had on social media discourse. Unlike the other chatbots that are controlled by woke ideology, Grok promotes objective and nuanced commentary for all users.
Establishment-critical narrative
In a world bursting with messy truths, forcing AI to speak only in sanitized platitudes risks turning intelligence into compliance. AI should be an unfiltered tool for everyone to use, no matter who it offends. While no one wants to be bombarded by pro-Hitler content, they also don't want oligarchs or the government to control information — something both sides can agree on.
