The Spin

Pro-North Korea narrative

The incident that occurred on Wednesday was a disgrace to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The four men arrested were ultimately responsible for this embarrassment, which they caused through their criminal negligence. While these officials will face the consequences of their actions, the DPRK will waste no time repairing the vessel and adding to its growing fleet.

Anti-North Korea narrative

The launch is an embarrassment for the Kim regime that exposes the severe lack of technical and engineering ability in the rogue state. From the beginning, this commissioning was doomed to fail, with an ill-equipped shipyard, an inexperienced workforce, and engineers cutting corners because of Kim’s visit. Consequently, this episode shows that the DPRK remains far from challenging U.S. and South Korean naval hegemony.
