The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

While Putin appeared to strike a more conciliatory tone and suggested he was ready for serious work on the U.S. framework, he stuck to his maximalist demands as the comments continued, signalling that a peace agreement is still some ways off.

Pro-Russia narrative

In general, Russia sees the framework provided by the U.S. as a good starting point for the basis of future agreements. However, it must be noted that the points are not in their final form and some issues are still in need of careful consideration and discussion.

Pro-Ukraine narrative

Ukraine will continue to work with the U.S. to build on the earlier results achieved in Geneva. In this respect, Ukraine's goals remain unchanged. That being achieving a lasting and dignified peace for Ukraine as soon as possible.
