The Spin

Republican narrative

President Trump had to pardon this dedicated law enforcement officer who was railroaded by the weaponized Biden justice system. The Biden administration's prosecution was nothing more than political persecution designed to target a Trump supporter, as the judge prevented Jenkins from presenting crucial evidence that would have cleared his name, demonstrating the corrupt nature of the proceedings.

Democratic narrative

Trump has once again undermined the rule of law with this pardon. Jenkins violated his oath of office, and a jury of his peers heard all the evidence and found him guilty on multiple felony counts. However, like the Jan. 6 rioters and others before him, Jenkins has been rewarded for his devotion to Trump, who has issued another pardon without anything resembling a close examination of the case.
