It's a moral imperative to address the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, where over 65,000 Palestinians have died. Netanyahu's government has consistently ignored international calls for a ceasefire, continued illegal settlement expansion and refused to commit to a two-state solution. These nations had no choice but to act when Israel failed to meet basic humanitarian conditions.
This premature recognition rewards Hamas terrorism, contradicts international law and undermines hostage negotiations while 48 Israelis remain captive. This diplomatic move emboldens extremists who view it as validation for Oct. 7, 2023, violence. Recognition without Hamas dismantlement betrays both Israelis and Palestinians under terrorist control.
