The Spin

Pro-Government narrative

Geza and his delusional supporters failed to convince the people that the illegal protests on March 31 would result in anything good for the country. Zimbabweans want constitutional order, peace, and tranquility to continue to exist in the country, and that means supporting Mnangagwa.

Opposition Narrative

The M31 protest was a failure and no one could expect anything else from a demonstration called by a faction of the ruling party and the military. It's crucial, however, to realize that the actual opposition does want Mnangagwa to at least dismiss, once and for all, the resolution seeking to extend his rule beyond the constitutional limit.

Cynical narrative

It doesn't matter who is in charge of Zimbabwe, as its political and security elites are not seeking real change for the country. Whether it's the late Robert Mugabe, Mnangagwa, or even his vice president Constantino Chiwenga, Zimbabwe will continue to serve their interests, not the other way round. It's no wonder that the population has grown apathetic to these corrupt elites.
