DOJ Officials Resign Over Declined Probe of ICE Shooter

Is the DOJ protecting a justified officer, or abandoning civil rights by blocking an investigation into Renee Good's killing?

    The Spin

    Republican narrative

Dhillon has made the right call. The FBI is already handling the investigation, and the departure of these woke career prosecutors, who wanted to persecute police officers, saves Dhillon the trouble of firing them. The Civil Rights Division exists to enforce federal civil rights laws, not to pursue ideological witch hunts against officers doing their jobs. Luckily, Dhillon is returning the DOJ to its main purpose.

    Democratic narrative

Dhillon's decision represents a complete abandonment of the Civil Rights Division's core mission to protect constitutional rights and moves the DOJ closer to becoming a politicized machine that shields law enforcement from accountability. Blocking state authorities from accessing evidence while the FBI investigates shows this administration has no intention of conducting a legitimate use-of-force investigation.
