American Oversight

American Oversight is a nonpartisan watchdog organization founded in 2017 that uses public records requests and litigation to investigate government activities and promote transparency. The group, led by executive director Heather Sawyer, focuses on accountability across federal, state, and local governments, filing thousands of Freedom of Information Act requests and publishing documents online for public access.
