Colombia Election 2026

Colombia is set to hold the first round of its presidential election on May 31, 2026, with a runoff scheduled for June 21 if no candidate wins an outright majority, in a race to succeed President Gustavo Petro, who is barred from seeking consecutive reelection. The contest has increasingly centered on three leading figures: leftist Senator Iván Cepeda, right-wing lawyer Abelardo de la Espriella, and center-right Senator Paloma Valencia.
