Hamas

Hamas is a Palestinian Sunni Islamist group governing parts of Gaza, founded in 1987 by Ahmed Yassin during the First Intifada. It won the 2006 Palestinian legislative election, advocating for clean government and armed struggle against Israeli occupation. Designated a terrorist organization by multiple countries, it has been involved in conflicts with and attacks against Israel.
