João Lourenço

João Lourenço has served as Angola's president since September 2017, succeeding José Eduardo dos Santos after nearly four decades of rule. The former defense minister and ruling MPLA party member has pursued anti-corruption campaigns, economic reforms, and efforts to diversify Angola's oil-dependent economy while maintaining the party's political dominance.
