Two dozen members of Canada's ruling Liberal Party have signed a letter calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to decide by Oct. 28 whether he wants to remain party leader. The members of Parliament (MPs) threatened unspecified consequences should he not follow suit.
This comes as Trudeau held a closed-door Liberal Caucus meeting on Wednesday, during which a reported 50-60 lawmakers spoke, about half of whom reportedly called on him to resign.
When some two dozen members of Trudeau's own government call for his resignation, it shows the country is tired of his leadership. Not only has he doubled both housing costs and the national debt, but he's done so while hiding behind a wall of corruption. Even liberal journalists are reporting that Liberal parliamentarians have to secretly message them out of fear of retribution. Trudeau's tyranny has destroyed Canada, and he must go.
The Liberal Party is not a monolith, and the fact that it contains differences of opinion is what makes it great. While the Conservatives seek to use this as a tool to grab power, Trudeau remains focused on protecting the social services that Canadians need, and opposition leader Poilievre wants to take away. Trudeau has been leading the fight for social programs for years and will continue to do so as the next election approaches.
