Former First Lady Melania Trump has revealed in her upcoming memoir Melania, scheduled to be released next week, that she supports abortion rights, writing that the issue of abortion should be based on "individual liberty" and "personal freedom."
According to the Guardian, who have received early access to the book, she states that women must be "free from any intervention or pressure from the government" when deciding whether to keep a child.

If Donald Trump's fight to overturn Roe wasn't proof enough, Melania's abortion comments should reassure voters of her husband's steadfast commitment to leave this issue in the hands of individual states. It's time for Democrats to end their hysterical accusations that Trump is seeking a nationwide abortion ban, and accept that on this issue the Republican nominee is in line with voters.
Democratic narrative
Melania's abortion comments are nothing but Republican propaganda attempting to push the dishonest narrative that Donald Trump is an abortion moderate. Voters must ask: why now has Melania chosen to speak up having stood silent for so long during her husband's cruel policies and dehumanizing rhetoric? This PR stunt is unlikely to fool anyone.
Conservative narrative
It's disappointing that Melania Trump and Kamala Harris now share the same abortion policy. The former first lady's views are in fact anti-feminist and in total opposition to the Catholic faith. She has been a strong advocate for empowering women, but defending the right to kill unborn children is antagonistic to the liberation of the very people she seeks to champion.
