The Spin

Republican narrative

This decision protects essential, constitutional presidential authority from judicial overreach and stops radical groups from hijacking foreign policy through lawsuits. Trump and future presidents are now assured they can responsibly administer aid programs without interference from private organizations seeking to control government spending decisions.

Democratic narrative

It's unfathomable that the court is allowing the administration to withhold funds that have already been allocated by Congress while also ruling that only the legislative branch can sue the executive branch. Aside from this poor interpretation of the Constitution, the court is rubber-stamping Trump's decision to literally allow illness and death to proliferate across the globe.
