The Spin

Democratic narrative

By extending deportation protections set to expire next spring just days before leaving office, Biden took a courageous step to virtually block Trump from terminating the TPS for several countries — at least for this year. If this temporary status program ever comes to an end, law-abiding, integrated immigrants and the American economy would suffer the most.

Republican narrative

It's shameful that the lame-duck administration has issued a decision tying the hands of the president-elect for 18 months. The so-called temporary program has long become de facto permanent, and its primary goal isn't to prevent deportations but rather to give wage-cutting, rent-spiking illegal aliens work permits to root them in American society.
