This was a brazen act of domestic terrorism that recklessly endangered the lives of employees, bystanders, and the public. The extremist group behind the bombing is shamelessly exploiting a tragedy for political gain while putting ordinary Greeks in harm’s way. Despite what these extremists claim, wanton acts of violence like this can never be justified.
Though the use of violence in this form can never be condoned, the action is a representative part of broader, legitimate public outrage over criminal corporate negligence and the government's failure to hold senior officials accountable for the Tempe disaster. Had the government addressed the serious flaws in Greece’s privatized rail system, extreme actions like those claimed by the Revolutionary Class Struggle group might never have occurred.
