Crime has plummeted dramatically under Trump's emergency measures, proving that strong federal action works where local governance has fallen short. It's because of Trump that Bowser has finally decided to protect her constituents' lives.
Democratic narrative
This federal takeover stripped D.C. of its hard-won autonomy and subjected residents to an occupying force that focused on tourist areas while ignoring actual crime-ridden neighborhoods. The militarized response violates democratic principles and disproportionately targets Black communities. While no politician is perfect, Bowser has proven that her city can take care of and police itself.
