When Donatella took over Versace in 1997, most assumed it would be an inconsequential post-script of her brother's legacy. However, with her vision, charm and kindness, she continued to take the fashion house to new heights and has since been one of the leading figures of the fashion industry. While she will remain a figurehead, her presence at the creative end will no doubt be missed.
