The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

Israel's aid distribution plans are already proving to be ineffective and problematic. These violent incidents further demonstrates that the GHF's operations have been a failure and that the U.N. should handle aid distribution. Both sides need to make concessions so that the ceasefire can be fully implemented and the hostages are returned.

Pro-Israel narrative

No one should be surprised that Israel is looking for alternatives to Hamas regarding aid distribution and security. The GHF has done incredible work to provide aid to Palestinians without benefiting Hamas, making this most recent terrorist attack particularly heinous. Likewise, working with local Palestinian fighters will save the lives of Israeli soldiers and set the groundwork for a post-Hamas administration in Gaza.

Pro-Palestine narrative

Israel is deploying local collaborators to help continue its genocide in Gaza. Abu Shabab is an Islamic State-affiliated criminal who Hamas put in prison until he escaped after the war erupted. His gang has been the one who have been looting aid — something Israel has accused Hamas of doing — and establishing concentration camps in southern Gaza. Hamas clearly targeted members of Abu Shabab's gang, not innocent aid workers.
